What is Bone and Tissue Grafting?

Missing teeth over a period can cause your jawbone to shrink, this leads to poor bone quality which is not suitable for the placement of dental implants.

Fortunately, now we can graft bone – replacing bone where it is needed with transplanted bone. This gives us the ability to restore bone functionality and give your mouth a more aesthetic appearance.

Soft tissue grafting helps combat gum recession which can be caused by gum disease, over-brushing, or poor tooth positioning. The reason for soft tissue grafting is to either cover the exposed root or thicken the existing gum tissue, halting further tissue loss.  Soft tissue grafts benefit the patients by increasing comfort, improving gum health and can even make a smile appear more symmetrical.
